I was hoping to have my new blog up and running in time for this post today. But ya know, there just aren't enough hours in the day *sigh* Anyway, I'll post this release here, and then once my new blog is all dressed up & looking pretty, I'll post a link here so that you can "find me" and keep up with my latest releases.

I'm going to keep this blog open. If you got my newsletter today, you may have read that both Annette and I still have our designs available at My Memories & Memory Mixer. So, we'll just keep this blog open so that we have a place to post about those releases or any changes that may be made to those shops.

One little update about the shop at PBP - it is now listed under Fay•ETTE Designs (I'm adding the emphasis to the ETTE while I transition to help people find me there. So....be sure to look a bit further up the list next time you're in the shop.

Anyway...back to TODAY'S NEWS . . . I have another beautiful set of designs to share with you! Time4Beginnings is the fifth release in my Time4Me Series, and this set will be EXCLUSIVE TO PBP. I thought the theme was appropriate, considering the changes that Annette and I are going through with our businesses. It's also the time of year when we send our kids back to school here in the US. It was almost one year ago when Annette and I opened our shop at Pickleberrypop...and what a year it's been! We LOVE working with PBP and with all of our wonderful customers! But, it's time to make some changes...it's time to CLEAN HOUSE!! So, we're going to retire many designs from our shop.

Now, for the next bit of news - designs aren't the only thing that will be retiring from our PBP shop. I'm sad to announce that Annette will be retiring from PBP. (I know this news will make many of you very sad....believe me, I know just how you feel!) Annette is one of my dearest friends and such a talented designer. But, you've probably noticed that she hasn't been adding new designs at PBP for quite some time. She's been busy pursuing another passion for the past few months - custom wedding and invitation design & printing. So, if you're ever in the market for some gorgeous invitations, be sure to check out her work!

I'm going to seriously miss working with Annette, but I wish her success with her new business! And hey...it's not like I don't know how to find or get hold of her. Don't worry...we'll still find plenty of excuses to get together!

So....what does that mean for the shop at PBP? Well....I'm not going anywhere! I'll continue to design and sell through the shop at PBP, but, I will begin to make a transition from "The Ettes" to

The transition will take time. You'll see a new banner go up in my shop in the next couple of weeks & will notice that the banner on my designs will be sporting my new logo. Keep up on the latest changes here on the blog (and if I move the blog, I'll be sure to redirect you...that's a change that will come later.) You can still keep track of us on our FB page or in our newsletter. Oh man, it's been so long since I've typed in first person, that I'm not sure I can refer to "I or me" instead of "we"! *grin* Lol...so bear with me, coz I'll probably slip up once in a while!

We want to express our sincere thanks to you, our wonderful customers. So many of you have followed us from our years in the craft and paper scrapping industry, and have kept up with us in our latest pursuits designing and selling online. You have made being "The Ettes" more fun that we could have ever imagined! We hope you'll continue to follow and keep up with each of us as we make this change. We'll try to make it as easy and painless as possible for you (and for us).

Now, you'll have to excuse me. I need to go find another box of tissues *sniff*

New Designs, A Sale....and a FREEBIE!

I’m not quite ready to say goodbye to summer - Hey, it's only August, it's been HOT here in Utah lately (like pushing 100F), the gardens are at their peak...it's STILL SUMMER! Why are we rushing things? I love fall, but I'm not ready for it yet!

I was working in my gardens the other day, feeling like I was in a bit of a creative slump...and then it happened. I was inspired by all of the flowers that were growing (among the weeds), and decided to do a kit that was all about flowers! “Bloom” is the result. My flowers don’t look exactly like the designs in this kit, but hey, I tried! I know that many designers are working on school & fall designs now, but I'm gonna enjoy the rest of summer and enjoy every last petal on my flowers (HOWEVER....I have an over abundance of zucchini, tomatoes, green beans and WEEDS, so if you'd like some, and you're in northern Utah...come on over!) If you're like me, and you're not ready for summer to be over, then take some time to enjoy this new kit! “Bloom” can be used for any theme you can think of, from gardening to goals, babies to birthdays and more!

As usual, I've bundled everything for this theme and have discounted it....and to top it off, I've also put all of my new "Bloom" Designs on sale for 25% until Aug. 30....so you actually save 36% on Bloom - The Bundle!

It will probably come as NO SURPRISE to you that I couldn't stop designing once I got started. So, I took some of the extra goodies and created a fab little Add-On Kit that's filled with great papers, elements & wordart designs!

Check out this set of alphas...I didn't do just one multi-colored alpha. I did this slightly wrinkled and tattered block alpha in SEVEN colors - yes, I have this thing about wanting the right letter in the right color. And, it never fails, if I just do a mixed colored alpha, I never have the right combo. That won't be an issue with this set *snicker* I think I may need a support group for alphas or something....just sayin'. Who's with me? Anyway, this set coordinates perfectly with the "Bloom" designs and so much more...it will become your "go to" alpha before you know it.

We want our kids to “bloom” as the new school year starts, we want to “bloom” in our homes & careers. I watch as my grandkids grow, and bloom into beautiful little people....“Blooming” can mean so many things....so I tried to do some titles that could be used in several ways. Use your imagination and see what “Blooms” on your digi projects, and then share your projects in The Ettes Gallery at PBP!

I decided to try the Short Stacks again for this theme....so much fun to use. If I didn't convince you with the last set, believe me with this one...they're EASY to use - just ask lbrtychic from my CT...she used one, created a darling layout, and it took her about five minutes. If you like speedy, creative layouts, that allow you to kinda do your own thing, then try these out!

I can't even put into words how much I love the ladies on my CT - they're amazingly talented, sooooo much fun to work with, and so willing to work with my totally unreasonable deadlines. We're back from a vacation to the west coast, and I'm doing my best to get back into the swing of things....but errmmmm...I think I left my "art" in San Francisco! (Sing that in your best Tony Bennett voice!) Speaking of our trip, we took Pat the Pickle from PBP with us. He had a great time, and we got lots of strange looks from the locals *grin*. I thought I'd share a couple of the pics of Pat's Travels!

This shot was taken from the 31st floor at the Dutch Consulate in San Francisco. Pat found out that he's afraid of heights!

Pat enjoyed cruising the bay & seeing the Golden Gate Bridge in spite of the fog!

We threatened to leave Pat at Alcatraz, but I didn't have the heart to do it. He's such a sweet pickle (no pun intended!)

We need to make those dreams part of our stories that we leave behind. That’s the point of my Time4Me series..to create pages about US and help our friends and family know who we REALLY are. The gorgeous elements, papers and wordart in this kit will help you tell that story in a beautiful way!

Although I'm always amazed at the talent of these ladies, there are times when the stories that they share on their layouts move me more than I can say. That happened several times with the layouts created for this set, but I'd like to feature one layout that literally moved me to tears. This layout by Mother Bear is stunning to look at. Her placement of the elements, and the balance that she's created just draw your eye in. It has an almost whimsical feel. But, the most impressive part of this layout to me is the journaling. This is EXACTLY what I hoped that this Time4Me series of designs would encourage. Take time to read it. It may just change the way you create your pages in the future.

New Designs, New Series & iNSD Sale!

Something has really been bugging me for a while. Although I rarely like pictures of myself, I find that I'm becoming more frustrated because I go to family gatherings, take tons of pics, get home & put them on my comp - that's when I find that I'm not in ANY of the photos! Granted, I'm a work-a-holic, so I spend a lot more time working than I do playing. But still, I want my kids and grandkids to remember that I WAS HERE...that I had a life, goals and dreams and that I was an important part of their lives (and yes, I know you can remember that without pics..but hey, I'm trying to get a point across here!) I'm sure lots of you have the same frustration. It's time for us to get out from behind the camera - hand it off to someone and have them take photos of US. We need to tell OUR STORIES. - we need to create projects about the things that we love - we need to be DOING the THINGS THAT WE LOVE. We, as women (and a few of our male friends), tend to put our needs behind those of others. That's a good quality sometimes...but hey, we all need some Time4Me!

So, with that in mind, and with the help of our fantastic CT Lead, Sheri/scrapshabby, I've come up with a new monthly series of projects that is going to help each of us tell OUR stories.

This week I'm releasing my first set of designs in this series. I'm so happy with how it turned out...sometimes things just click! I hope you'll love it too, and that you'll do your best to find some Time4Me (both in the PBP shop...and in your lives)!

I re-released a refreshed and RELOADED kit at PBP today called P.S. I Love You. This was originally a PAGEkit when we had our website, so I've more than doubled the number of elements and papers in this kit...and well, I got carried away as usual and added a bunch of WordArt and some doodles and made new quick pages.

These doodles are simple, and there aren't a ton of them, but man...they're some versatile little designs. Love using the hearts as photo masks...but they look fantastic with patterned paper clipped to them, too. I love letting the little curly ends stick out here and there...too much fun!

A dear friend of mine told me the other day that 50 is the new 40. But, either way, 50 is halfway to 100....that's just OLD! I usually love birthdays, but ummmm...I'm not really looking forward to this one! That's right folks, I'll become an official member of the half century club on Sunday. *ugh* Fortunately, I refuse to grow up, and have just decided that I'm going to stay 38 in my mind *grin*

Meet The Ettes...Award Winning Bloggers :)

I was pleasantly surprised today by Carly when she honored us with the Stylish Blogger Award for our humble little blog. Thanks Carly....be sure to check out her blog Carly's Digi Scraps! Would it be egotistical of us to refer to ourselves as "award winning" designers now? Lol...don't worry, I won't, but we're honored, nonetheless!

Now, on with the harder part of receiving this award. I've already filled the first requirement...linking back to Carly's blog. Now, I need to share 7 little facts about myself (some sites that I looked at said I should share 8...but hey, I'm going with the lower number just coz I'm just not that interesting at 2 in the morning.) This could take some time. Lol...i guess you'll never know because you'll have no idea when I started this post, and when I finally finished it.

Here are seven random facts about me (ummmm...I'm not gonna include info about Annette here, coz you can guess who's going to be one of the 15 bloggers that I pass this award along to.) Anyway, here goes - and this is NOT info about designing...just some quirky facts about me:

1. I hate to be cold. Lol...many of you may know this because of my whining about the snow posts on facebook and in the forums lately! To make matters worse...the little space heater that sits next to me at my comp, and keeps me toasty warm quit working last Friday...seriously annoying.

2. Speaking of annoying...it really bugs me to death when people are too lazy to return shopping carts to the shopping cart corralls...or whatever they're called. Honestly people...just take a few steps and a few seconds and do us all a favor (ok...I'm done ranting now!)

3. I used to sew dresses for weddings (not the bridal gowns...just bridesmaids dresses). I'll bet none of you knew that! I can't say that I miss those days...darn people would bring patterns for that were 4 sizes too small! I had a lot of fun sewing for my girls when they were little too *snicker* They have lots of pics in matching dresses thanks to my love of sewing!

4. I LOVE to play table tennis/ping pong and finally got my own table for Christmas this past year! I'm no professional...but Annette and I have been known to get into a good game when there's a table around (btw...she lives about two hours from me, so I haven't dazzled her with my skills lately!). Lol..we found a table in a house that we were doing a photo shoot at for work one time, and played a game or two. Hehe..I wonder if the owners of the house knew we did that? We also played in a ping pong tournament on a cruise we were on for work...lots of fun (although I didn't win..no surprise there!)

5. I love to experiment with new recipes...my latest favorite is Thai food. Who would have known that Rama Thai Chicken was so easy to make...and sooooo yummy! Two words...coconut milk!

6. I have two unique talents that I shock and amaze people with. I can wiggle my ears...seriously, like I can cause a breeze with the movement. I'm still trying to see if I've passed this amazing skill on to any of my grandkids....no luck yet. And...I can squirt a stream of water through a little tiny space between my two front teeth...so accurately that I could hit you right in the eye if you were within 5 feet of me. Lol....and don't worry, it's just water that I squirt, although I know it comes in contact with the saliva in my mouth. Just don't think about it...it's amazing if you don't think about the spit factor!

7. And my final fact will come as no surprise to those of you who know me. For some reason, my body just doesn't think it needs 8 hours of sleep a night. I function great if I get 5-5 1/2 hours. I'm trying to do better in that department, so that I don't look like I'm 80 when I turn 50 soon...but man, when I wake up, I'm wide awake! I used to be able to function on 4 hours of sleep for like three months when I was getting ready for a craft fair (back in my tole painting days)...but, the older I get, I notice that it doesn't work quite as well as it used to.

Ok...there are the seven random facts about me. Maybe one of my "facts" should have been that I like to write, and tend to get a little wordy *grin* I'll bet you're sitting there thinking that there went five minutes of your life that you'll never get back *snicker* Sorry about that!

Now, for the hardest part. I need to pass this award along to FIFTEEN other bloggers.

It's Winter Outside, but Summer on my Screen!

I'm seriously tired of all of this white stuff in my yard (for those of you unfamiliar with it...it's SNOW!) So, I've been working with some spring & summer designs to try & forget that it's still winter here! I really meant to re-release this one when our friends down under were in the middle of summer...ummmm...I missed *snicker* They're heading into autumn in AUS now, but oh well, I'm adding this one to the shop anyway. Since I'm a little slow or really early - depending where you live, I'm giving an extra generous discount on these designs for TWO DAYS ONLY - March 2-3!

Ya know, staying up late on a Sunday night to help your grown kids pack to head back to their homes has its advantages! We've added some new Owl Clip Art Designs in the shop at PBP that are simply adorable! They are perfect for layouts, cards and many different projects. They're charming, irresistible and will be the perfect addition to your digi projects!

We've added one of our favorite "old but new" kits to our shop at PBP this week! "Favorite Faces" is just what it says - the perfect little kit for highlighting YOUR favorite faces! Check it out!

We've added some more of our favorites to our shop at PBP! I'm adding "The Countdown" Dig-Ette-al Kit this week. For those of you who bought it on our website (as a much smaller PAGEkit), you'll notice that I've added loads of new embellishments, more papers, a separate pack of doodles, an alphabet and some quick pages. Check them out!

These doodles are lots of fun to use. I've included masks for each doodle that you can create backgrounds with. Just pull the digi paper of your choice over the mask and create a clipping mask, then drag the doodle on top. Lots of possibilities with this set!

I love this versatile little alpha...it's so easy to use, and will work for any theme!

I took a little time and created some quick pages with this set....now I have to take some pics so that I can use them! Are any of you like me - kinda boring on New Year's Eve? I'd rather stay home, play games & watch movies with the family, have some fun finger food & watch the ball drop than go out on New Year's Eve. Yes, call me boring - in a fun sort of way ;P

I dunno about you, but I'm freezing just reading this WordArt. Of course, that might have to do with the FREEZING temps outside here. This WordArt is cute enough that I could almost love winter...but only "almost" :P

This layout was created by a new member of the PBP CT - La'Shawn (shawnbear). Again, the photo is just too precious - love the journaling. And well, I'm kinda partial to the designs :P I LOOOOVE her use of the acrylic frame and all of the stacked elements!

This last layout was created by Kaye (nockosh) from the PBP CT. The background paper isn't from Hip Christmas, but I loved her layout so much that I wanted to share it anyway. Hey, even I know that people mix & match designs ;)

I spent the last few days "spiffing up" and adding loads of new digi goodies to my Hip Christmas Collection so that I could re-load it into our shop at PBP. I confess, as usual, I didn't know when to quit . . . way too much fun! I added lots of new elements, removed a few, and ended up really happy with the result...gotta love those reindeer!

The Christmas season is in full swing...and we've been BUSY designing! You'll find loads of gorgeous new goodies in the PBP Shop! I love this time of year (although I could do without the SNOW that we got today!) I love that we take the time to be more aware of, and acknowledge the good things that we enjoy in life. I wish we could show as much gratitude all year long as we do at Thanksgiving time!

Sooooooo...whadya think of our new blog outfit? We decided to dress it up a bit...and well, we had lots of great help from Carolyn Rose Kite (CRK Designs) and the fabulously talented Flerg from Studio Flergs! Don't we look great in our new digi duds? You may be wondering where we got these gorgeous designs. Well, read on...we're willing to share!

Carolyn Rose Kite (the new owner of Pickleberrypop) & I have been working on a collab kit that we've called, "Must Love Blogs", and can I just say that I LOOOOVE this kit! We're both very happy with how it turned out. We figured that since most of us spend a good portion of our lives "online", that we should do a kit for it...so here you go. Check out MUST LOVE BLOGS!

Of course, this kit is so versatile that you can use it for almost any theme...but throw in our WordArt, and you're ready to make a project about "staying connected" and how you spend your time online. Let's face it, our blogs, Twitter and Facebook have become a huge part of our lives.....it's like a living journal, so why not create a digi page about it?

Carolyn created FOUR beautifully colorful alphas that coordinate perfectly with this kit!

You can insert the pages in a magnetic frame to display on your fridge, or put them in a pocket photo album to always keep your favorite photos & important dates handy!

You'll love the crisp, clean feel of the Fresh Linen designs. I loooove using this kit - the colors are so versatile - they can be used for springy themes for our friends down under, but there's enough gold & orange that we can use it for fall themes here in the northern hemisphere. It's kind of a happy/sad day for the "Ettes" today. We're going to permanently take our website offline late tonight (Friday night, Utah time). It's time to take a new creative path - we're excited about that! So, yes, we're closing our site today . . . BUT, we're definitely NOT going away! Make sure you put our blog, FB, PBP, MM & MMS in your favorites so that you can keep up with our latest releases.

Changes for The Ettes!

We have been thinking about making some big changes for quite some time. It's been a difficult process, but we think we're doing the best thing for our careers (and our sanity!) So....see the big news below!

As the graphic says, you don't need to panic. We'll still be around after we close our site, doing the thing we love most....DESIGNING. Lol...yes, I think that's me that you can hear cheering in the background about not having to maintain the website anymore! WOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO!!! In the meantime, head over to OUR SHOP and save some cash on everything in our shop!

We will still have our blog so that you can come here to get the latest news after we close our site. And, of course, there's always facebook and message boards at our new home....but *ahem* we're not gonna give you all of those details yet.

Just know that we're HAPPY about this change. It's been a great experience to run our own site and shop, but we're ready to devote less of our time to the "tech" side of things and more time to creating beautiful stuff. That's what it's all about for us!

Anyway, we've put together this soft & summery kit to help you celebrate the simple days of summer! Whether your kids are selling lemonade at a lemonade stand, enjoying ice cold popsicles or just having a picnic in the backyard, you'll find designs in this kit to help you preserve those memories!

If you've tried to go to our website this afternoon, you'll notice that we've been hacked...AGAIN! *sigh* Until we can get on top of this, we're out of commission....and I had a great new kit to put in the shop tomorrow. I'll post here when it's "safe" to purchase from our shop again.

I guess honesty doesn't mean anything to some people...what an irritating way to get your jollies. Seriously, don't you have anything better to do?

Sorry we haven't been posting as regularly as we should....but we've actually been taking a break from our computers. My break is by choice...Annette's break is being forced on her by a computer that refuses to work for her. I feel her pain, and know how frustrating it is!

So...don't think that we've forgotten you. We just tend to get busy with real life this time of year. We both have sons leaving on missions for the LDS church soon...so that is keeping us busy as well! My son leaves June 16, and Annette's son leaves in July. Ugh...she's done this three times before with her older sons...I dunno how she's done it. I have a lump in my throat just typing this blog post. I think I might be a mess for a few days after we drop Jake off at the MTC *sniff*sniff*sniff*....but hey, don't get me wrong. I'm GLAD that he's going (and even a little anxious)....but I'm going to miss him like mad. Two years is a LONG time! Here's a pic of him with my dad outside of the Logan LDS Temple...awwwwww...where did the time go?

I've had so much fun working in the vegetable and flower gardens in my yard and getting my lawn into shape (between rain storms)...things are looking so beautiful! I've spent hours weeding, grooming and planting. I really love conquering the weeds and seeing the beautiful plants grow. I'm anxious for the first fresh peas...and well, I can hardly wait for the cherry tomatoes and cantaloupe harvest in a few weeks...two of my favorite things out of our vegetable garden.

I've been in a real "fix it and clean it" mood....I painted our picnic table set, painted some cute little red chairs for my grandkids (gotta find some cute fabric to make cushions) and have been de-junking the garage. I swear, we just did this a few months ago, and I'm still finding more things to get rid of.

When I'm not playing in the yard or garage, I've actually been making some cards...enjoying getting my hands dirty with papercrafts. Even though I love digital...I LOVE to make cards and have a stash of them on hand. I even tried some of Annette's adorable paper flowers on some graduation cards...way too cute. And no...I didn't take a pic...I'll see if I can do something about that ;)

So....that's a little update from one of the "Ettes". We're still here, still happy...and will get back to designing very soon....anyone interested in an "In Memory" themed kit? Hmmm...I kinda need to hurry with that one, don't ya think?

I know that she probably doesn't want me to advertise this...but my dearest friend, Annette, is having a birthday this week...so we're having a sale! Check it out! (Btw...you are aware that she's OLDER than me, aren't you? :) *sigh* Now...if only she looked like it :P

We've both been slacking off for a couple of weeks, so we finally got busy and each of us turned out a new set of designs. (btw...we were working on these designs right up to the last minute...so you'll have to wait a few days to see what our wonderful Creative Team does with them!)

Annette put together this adorable "Simple Moments" Mini Kit...it's just perfect for those everyday moments that you don't want to forget. Dang...I had a couple of those this week, but I forgot what they were. She should have designed this kit sooner *snicker*

During my slacking off time, I slept a bit more than usual--no less than 6 hours a night! I guess that was the inspiration for my new designs ;) I had a lot of fun putting together "In Your Dreams". . . it's perfect for those cute (and sometimes hilarious) "sleepy" photos of your friends and family.

My sister has some great pics that I wish I could have used for this kit. Lol..her hubby fell asleep (and of course, he's past 40 so his mouth dropped open). Their evil sons got some Pepperidge Farm fish crackers and filled his mouth up. Lol..they're hilarious, but unfortunately, I couldn't get my hands on them in time. Darn...that reminds me, I should have put a fish in this kit :P

I also created a set of "Click" Pages using the "In Your Dreams" Collection....LOTS of fun putting these together...and I'm only guessing that you can tell which one I did in honor of my brother-in-law...even if his picture isn't on it *snicker*

So...you have no excuses. We have some fantastic new designs....AND you get to save a bundle on them this weekend. So...go shopping, and then get scrapping!
